    To whom it may concern,

    In this thread I will discuss the possible cause of continuous decline of players in this server. Addressing the problem with inactivity, lack of staff, economy and forum. Concluding with ideas to help improve the server if possible.

    However this is not aimed to criticise or attack anyone in this situation. Only that I plead to persuade you to change your opinion toward the server and dedicated community! I understand that everyone have their own time and occupation to attend to before concerning themselves with games. However if a person is unable to manage the expectation, should it stress to pass the power to someone with minority for a less responsibility. Thus making it more manageable.

    As much as I love this server, the inactivity of staff and owners declined the player’s activity gradually. Which also affected my activity on the server as well. We all can agree that the good community comes with treating each other like a family and being active increases the success of functioning server.

    -


    Forum

    *There should be regular newsletter informing players on forum and new added things on server. We've missed few months of newsletter.

    *If the monthly building contest takes lot of time, it should be extended to every 2 month to reduce stress and gives players more time to build something nice!

    *Competition and prizes should be managed by staff team, on top of that. We also need active staff member. Add helper ranks to welcome new players and help with their questions.

    *If possible, remove the rule of bumping old topic because this forum has few threads and posts which makes it irrelevant. An answered topic should be locked while discussion should remain.

    *Needs a higher rank i.e Admin, to engage with audience for their ideas and things to be added on the server.

    There should be a small team of active staff for the following reason.


    Administrator: Manages Moderators and Builders, competitions and prizes along with forums posts.

    Moderators: Manages players and restore griefs, forums posts and assist with competitions.

    Developers: Add plugins and ‘’develop’’ the server with new update.

    Helpers: Sub-mod position that simply answers player’s questions and engage with audience.

    Builders: Builds the server with new things, same things are boring!

    Moving on to Economy!

    -I suggest to increase the money limit of player from 2,999,999.90 to 5 billion. Reasonable amount of competition between players.


    -Remove the options to sell in the server shops, thus making everything so simple that it ruins everything for us. This is where the economy crashes with following reasons.

    -Auto farms

    -Spawner Auto farms

    -Enderfarms

    -Iron Golem Farm



    Only allow sell options for each jobs such as;

    Mining – Cobblestone, nether rack

    Digging/Excavation – Dirt

    Woodcutting – Birch Log (unpopular logs)

    Farming/Food – Beetroot

    Building – Quartz blocks

    Fishing – Pufferfish

    Mob Drops – Rotten Flesh


    This gives enough money to everyone to manage without earning too quickly to buy diamonds and go OP.


    Reset Nether and End worlds regularly, have a staff do it for you.

    Server

    -Add capability to /fly in limited time, for example;
    500k for 1 week of capability to fly!

    -Add Non-Donor ranks for high number of hours played for example;

    Frontier: 300 hrs. They unlock

    ………./Back

    ……….1 /setwarp

    ……….1 /sethome

    Costs $5,000 in game money to rank up.

    Elder: 500 hrs. They unlock

    ……….Chats in color

    ………../nick

    Costs $10,000 in game money to rank up.

    Spartan: 1,000 hrs. They unlock

    ……………Special /kits

    Or something.

    Costs $100,000 in game money to rank up.


    -Allow mobs and players drop heads as Player vs Player trophy.

    -Add another world such as Mini-game world for few players or even one player that if you win or pass a level, you earn in game money connecting to the survival world.

    -PROMOTE! And ADVERTISE your server through sites, we need more players!

    -Add tag option where only staff member can give to players, to make it fun!

    -Occasional PvP tournaments managed by staff of course.

    -Reduce teleportation timer from 10 seconds to 5 seconds!

    -Either my time zone fails me or the Staff and Owners are never on?


    Please don’t mind my grammar as my message is detailed and clear. Thank you for taking your time to read my prayers. I hope you all can contribute to turn this server around for better!

    Hey Galalie,

    This is an excellent, really well thought out post. I know there has been a massive decline from September onwards and the main reason for that is how busy I am and also the small amount of staff I managed to hire during July and August when we were really booming to help me during this lull period.

    You've made some excellent suggestions and I really want to fix up some of the issues you mentioned here- I am aware of many of them in particular the economy issue which has just inflated more and more.

    Unfortunately I'm really only going to get busier over the next few months as I approach my final exams. I'll try harder to release some more updates between now and June. Once we're into late june early july I'll have a lot more time on my hands as my exams run from about the 3rd of June to the 18th. After that period is when I picture really bringing the server back to how we started in terms of players.

    I'll definitely be coming back to this post for reference for a while as this probably summarises the thoughts of the whole community pretty well and I might also pin it somewhere where its more visible to everyone, thanks again,

    I would like to add one thing of note on a purely psychological standpoint.
    There isn't a very unique or outstanding concept to truly 'hook' players to remain on the server.
    Of course, many would say that the mature community and nice vanilla blend of plguins could fulfill that role. I however would say that it is merely a few steps into what is a good server and is not unique or special.

    The building contest, while not unique, is still a rarity amongst most servers and a good idea to branch out on. Competitions will encourage players to remain on the server and engage with the rest of the community whilst supporting the server.
    I for one would like to see who can mine the most in an hour or who can eat the most food haha.

    In this thread, I will be giving my own 2 cents on what Galalie wrote about: the possible cause of the continuous decline of players in this server.

    Building

    *Yes, Galalie is right about the extra time for building contests but there should be a monthly one as well done on the first of every month. This gives builders a lot of time to work on extremely nice buildings.

    Staff

    *All ranks will receive creative due to the need to be able to get around and for builders, so they can get the needed resources without scouring for years for the biggest projects.

    *I will be adding recommendations of who should fill each position.

    Admin: Is the 2nd highest rank, below owner, and is in charge of the server, competitions and other such.
    Recommendation – Delta
    Why – She is one of the most active players on the server (until recently for me, probably because of my awkward hours) and she is relativity – for the lack of a better term – OP. She is also well known by almost anybody who has been on the server for some time


    Moderators: Manages players and restore griefs, forums posts and assist with competitions.
    Recommendation – Hexagonization
    Why – He is also very active on the server and most people know him. He is less active than Delta – in my opinion – and is also relativity “OP”.


    Builders: Builds the server new things - same things are boring!
    Recommendation – Rozzin
    Why – He built the very impressive courthouse of the server. Most people know him and his rank is already Designer.



    Helpers: a Sub-mod position that simply answers player’s questions and engages with an audience.
    Recommendation – Galalie
    Why – He suggested the ideas, he has been on the server for some time and most if not all of the older players know him – older meaning playing for over 2 months – If I weren’t running out of people to recommend, he would be in the admin. (I drew paper to choose positions) (No insult intended)


    Moving on to Economy!

    Make spawners go up in amount

    · Iron Golems – 450,000

    · Blaze Spawners – 475,000

    Increase all other spawners’ amount. Here is my reason why: Most people need a way to make server money and the best way is to sell iron and blaze-rods and other such items you can farm. Auto-farms are cheap, yes and they should not be allowed for long time spans. To stop the unfairness of the spawners, all you need to do is increase their value so that they cost more to buy making the original process and beginning process a lot harder.

    Make job options that increase the amount you can sell the below stuff for or double the drops so that they make more money off the job. The player can select a job and only one job and that job, is what they get increased drops from. This is so because it is now harder to make money

    · Mining – Cobblestone, nether rack

    · Digging/Excavation – Dirt

    · Woodcutting – Birch Log (unpopular logs)

    · Farming/Food – Beetroot

    · Building – Quartz blocks

    · Fishing – Pufferfish

    · Mob Drops – Rotten Flesh

    Final note – to ensure that the players are not getting “OP” too easily, limit the amount of items 1 player is allowed to sell every hours. To address Galalie problem with diamonds – check how expensive they are, please.




    Extra Ranks


    -Add capability to /fly in limited time, for example;

    500k for 1 week of capability to fly!
    1 full week of voting 6 times – 1 wee capability to fly


    -Add Non-Donor ranks for high number of hours played for example;


    Frontier: 100 hrs. They unlock

    · +/Back

    · +1 /setwarp

    · +1 /sethome

    Costs $5,000 in-game money to rank up.


    Elder: 200 hrs. They unlock

    · Chats in color

    · /nick

    Costs $10,000 in-game money to rank up.


    Spartan: 500 hrs. They unlock

    · +Special /kits : IDK, sword kit, legendary key??

    Costs $100,000 in-game money to rank up.




    -Either my time zone fails me or the Staff and Owners are never on?

    I understand, the message here was to tell you that you can let off some things to other people so that you can have more time to focus on things.

    The trick for eating the most food is to eat gapples and carrots or any other non-high-saturation foods. Or jumping and sprinting in circles

    repeatedly taking fall damage while eating cookies. Or sitting on a cactus. Any type of damage causes hunger to drain faster.

    Run a marathon while doing hurdles. At the same time, the track must be made of cacti and when you get hungry eat rotten flesh and when you are not hungry, eat golden apples. I WIN!!!!!!!!!

    First off, woah, there is a lot of crazy good ideas and lots of information. Second, I believe it would be great to add all these odds and ends. We need change. Just like resetting the server, it’ll be a new start for everyone. Give people the chance to develop more. There is all sorts of builds that aren’t used due to inactivity. Makes more space and more things available for the active players. Also, if you add the odds and ends to the server, and have more promotion, it will bring more players. Don’t get me wrong. We have a lot of dedicated players, but we need more dedicated players.

    Whatever is decided, I’m down. I will help any way I am needed. I’m excited for potential changes and the potential we have in the server.

    There's one thing I recently noticed.
    If the jobs system were to be the main focus of earning money . It could result in a lot of damage to the overworld, due to people excavating the land and trees for money.
    Any idea on how to fix this?

    I think the server reset happened, this is great chance to fix up the issues! As with other points you've made.

    If this were to happen with damage to the terrain, the method of fixing it would be adding the rule of terraforming.
    To terraform neatly or flatly as possible? The sell worth of dirt should be lower than cobblestone for this cause.
